Wavio is the URL shortening service for waves of Wavedirectory.net, a directory of public Google Waves, Robots and Gadgets.

To create a shorter URL for a wave post its URL in the HTTP request body to http://rewavio.appspot.com/post. URLs have to start with https://wave.google.com/wave/#restored:wave:. You also have to escape the waveid properly, so test it in a browser first. https://wave.google.com/wave/#restored:wave:googlewave.com%2521w%252BvPEQx4LnB works for example. The HTTP response body will contain the shortened URL in the form of http://wav.io/xxxxx.
